Sevenair Academy Expands Its Fleet With Five New Diamond DA40 Aircraft

Five new Garmin G1000-equipped Diamond DA40 aircraft join the Sevenair Academy fleet in Ponte de Sor, expanding training capacity and helping keep flight training running without interruption.

Ponte de Sor, Portugal, 20 October 2026 – Sevenair Academy is adding five Diamond DA40 aircraft to its training fleet, expanding its operational capacity as more cadets begin their pilot training in Ponte de Sor.

The new aircraft reinforce the resources available for flight training, helping to keep training running without interruption across every phase of the course. More aircraft on the flight line means more flexibility in scheduling, greater resilience during maintenance periods and a steadier pace for cadets as they progress towards their licences.

Why the DA40 matters

The Diamond DA40 is one of the most important aircraft in our fleet for flight instruction. It is a modern, four-seat, single-engine trainer, used in many stages of training, from building core handling skills to navigation and instrument flying.

Like the rest of our DA40 fleet, the new aircraft are equipped with the Garmin G1000 glass cockpit. Training on integrated digital displays from an early stage helps cadets build the scan, systems management and automation skills they will use in the glass cockpits of modern airliners, easing the transition to the airline flight deck.

The additional DA40s will join a fleet that combines single-engine and multi-engine aircraft, simulators and our own maintenance team, all based at Ponte de Sor (LPSO), where the weather and uncongested airspace are well suited to flight training.

Building capacity for the next generation of pilots

The investment supports Sevenair Academy's growth as a member of the Airbus Flight Academy network and reflects our commitment to giving cadets the aircraft and resources they need to train consistently and safely.
